Veronica Ria
I am a fourth-year Industrial Design student at OCADU with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Toronto. My formative education in healthcare brought forth a period of experiential reflection through which I recognized the value of my science background in the pursuit of a career in Industrial Design. The rigour of the scientific method, the precision in measurements and the structured approach to the observation of human behaviour and how we interact with and experience products have enhanced my work in Industrial Design thus far.
I have had the great pleasure of working with and learning from several mentors and colleagues through internships, competitions, and professional projects in several sectors: Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Strategy Design.
I remain endlessly fascinated by the convergence of function and aesthetics, and the infinite possibilities design offers to positively influence quality of life. This is especially important in a world challenged by environmental devastation, connected by technology, and in desperate need for human collaboration across all disciplines and walks of life. Life demands creative solutions. I am humbly and enthusiastically committed to dedicating my career to applying fresh perspectives to answering the current and brewing future demands.
