Overview To address some of the downfalls of the collaboration between ‘smart’ devices and hotels and to demonstrate how MUJI hotel Toronto may integrate it more effectively, the MUJI ME Google Home Mini Docking Station and MUJI ME hotel service department is proposed.

The MUJI ME Google Home Mini Docking Station provides support, protection, and illumination for the Google Home Mini particularly in the context of a typical MUJI Hotel Toronto guest room. This particular smart speaker is ideal for spaces between 100sf and 200sf and can carry out various functions such as thermostat control; scheduling; lighting control; and more. The docking station itself has a kind of anthropomorphic presence as it positions the smart speaker in such as way that it acts as a face that is supported by a short and body and two chunky legs that can be illuminated by a simple fllip of a switch. As a major part of a guests hotel experience, MUJI ME brings a friendly and welcoming presence during a time of isolation, uncertainty, and adaptation.
